If there were a starter pack for traditional-chic living rooms, a brass task lamp would be first on the list. Often placed beside a sofa or armchair, tucking one of these classic library-style lights into your space adds a touch of sophistication that says: Why yes, I am going to fulfill my New Year’s resolution of reading more

Like most elevated wares, these lamps don’t come cheap. Visual Comfort’s is $579; CB2’s is $649; and Serena & Lily’s goes for $698. That’s where this highly rated, super-similar version on Amazon comes into the picture: It’s just $75.

We’re not the first to come across it: YouTuber and affordable decor aficionado Kiva Brent turned us on to the lighting score after revealing it as one of her favorite chic Amazon home finds—and in a recent Instagram Reel, she dug even deeper into the lamp’s allure. For starters, it comes in antique brass, black, and brushed nickel. It swings 360 degrees, is dimmable, and adjusts from 47 to 55 inches in height. The adjustable head also has LED bulbs, so you’ll never have to replace them. (This is a good thing, because you’ll need to contact the brand to do so. Thankfully, it seems quite responsive.)

Amazon commenters are on board, too. They rate the 100% metal lamp 4.5 stars and say it is heavy-duty, expensive quality, and easy to assemble. One commenter even notes that guests have mistaken it for the RH version. Might we suggest pairing it with that tall stack of books you’ve been meaning to read?
